South Island Travels - 1963/1964

The Hapuku River.

Looking up a typical wide, shallow, shingle river, grey water, grey skys, grey shingle.

The weather turned miserable while crossing the Hapuku River. Our first view of a real South Island eastern side shingle river.

Taken 25th December, 1963.
