The rugged coastline to the west of Auckland.

Whatipu looking towards the Manukau Harbour South Head. Ninepin Rock and Paratutae Island. Whatipu - West Auckland.
The foreground rocks and cliffs are the North Head, while the distant cliffs are the South Head of the Manukau Harbour.
While the Manukau Harbour is very large, only small coastal shipping and fishing boats can cross the treacherous shifting sand bar across the entrance and navigate the narrow channel winding up to the Port of Onehunga.
